On 25 Nov 09 Deputy Sheriff Sheaves arrested a sixteen year old Fleming resident for delinquency by domestic violence. Belligerent and uncooperative following an incident last week where the juvenile stole money from his mother to buy marijuana, the teenager pushed his father, choked him and attempted to put him in a headlock. The teenager’s father, who was restraining his son when Deputy Sheaves arrived, said the incident began when he said to his son that he would call law enforcement if his son ran away.
On 25 Nov 09 David Lowe, age 57, 3558 School House Road, Little Hocking, reported he was doing his foster sons’ laundry when he discovered three gold women’s rings, the origins of which his foster sons would not provide. This case remains under investigation (608).
On 25 Nov 09 Michael A. Deal, age 46, 2660 Braun Road, Belpre, reported sometime between 4 pm on 24 Nov and 6:30 am on 25 Nov an unknown suspect(s) stole a tree stand, binoculars, a hunting knife and a bag of hunting equipment from his back porch. This case remains under investigation (608).
On 26 Nov 09 Deputy Sheriff Carr requested summonses for Ryan B. Dick, age 38, 2110 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, and his live-in girlfriend Susan P. King, age 49, for disorderly conduct. Currently on probation and not permitted to have alcohol in his home, Mr. Dick poured out a bottle of alcohol Ms. King purchased that morning. A brief struggle ensued shortly thereafter in the bathroom of the couple’s residence, during which time the shower curtain rod fell and caused a laceration on Ms. King’s forehead.
On 26 Nov 09 Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested a summons for Jess D. Jackson, age 23, 5766 Anderson Road, Watertown, for OVI. Mr. Jackson was driver of a pickup truck traveling on a private driveway when the vehicle began to fishtail. The vehicle left the driveway at 752 Luke Chute Road and struck a tree at approximately 40 mph. Interviewed after being transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital along with his passenger, Mr. Jackson admitted consuming nine or ten beers. Deputy Anderson is awaiting lab results indicating Mr. Jackson’s blood alcohol concentration.
On 27 Nov 09 a sixteen year old Marietta resident reported she was involved in a dispute with her father. Deputy Sheriff Mayle is attempting to obtain statements from witnesses in order to clarify each party’s role in the conflict.
On 27 Nov 09 Jessica L. Gates, age 29, 2430 Dutch Central Ridge, Rockport, WV, reported her now ex-live-in boyfriend awoke her in the middle of the night and demanded her to identify a male whose number she had in her mobile phone. Ms. Gates said her boyfriend ran with her phone into the bathroom of their apartment in Belpre and when she attempted to grab the phone he slammed the door on her arm. Ms. Gates stated she was not harmed intentionally and did not fear for her safety but that she did want her ex-boyfriend to return her phone and a set of keys. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Mayle closed this case as unfounded.
On 27 Nov 09 a twenty-eight year old Beverly resident reported she has received several threatening phone calls from a male she met on the internet and that he continues to phone her despite her repeated requests to not do so. This case remains under investigation (308).
On 28 Nov 09 Heather M. Parrish, age 38, 136 Oak Drive, Little Hocking, reported she was involved in a heated argument with her husband over disciplining his seventeen year old son and her husband attempted to keep her from leaving the residence by repeatedly opening her car door. Interviewing both parties, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks determined no threat was made and that Mrs. Parrish did not fear for her safety. Therefore, Deputy Smeeks closed this case as unfounded.
On 28 Nov 09 Loretta M. Snyder, age 53, 71 Riverview Lane, Lowell, reported she discovered what appear to be four bullet holes above the headboard of her thirty-six year old son’s bed along with a threatening note. Upon seeing the note, Mrs. Snyder’s son believes the person(s) responsible for the bullet holes and note may also have scratched and scribed a letter on his truck. This case remains under investigation (1104).

Gary Lee Cable, age 29, 22500 Frostyville Road, Caldwell, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Cable was picked up at the Noble County Jail by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Nov 09 at 3:25 pm.
Martha Rebecca Lassiter, age 39, 830 Fourth Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Lassiter was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Nov 09 at 4:30 pm.
Thomas Ogle Davis, age 28, 52175 Tower Road, Cumberland, OH, for theft, a misdemeanor. Davis was arrested at Walgreens by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Nov 09 at 5:08 pm.
William David Richards, age 20, 101 Theiss Avenue Lot 6, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Richards was arrested on Ninth Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Nov 09 at 5:41 pm.
Joshua James Blewett, age 22, 43735 Tabor Hill Road, Summerfield, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Blewett was picked up at the Noble County line by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Nov 09 at 2:46 am.
Michael Eric Hoffert, age 26, 101 Washington Street, Marietta, for burglary, a felony. Hoffert was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Nov 09 at 12:10 pm.
Robert Gregory Miller, age 38, 2136 Silverville Road, Freeport, PA, a fugitive from justice, a felony. Miller was arrested near milepost sixteen on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Nov 09 at 7:50 pm.
Elizabeth Dawn Thompson, age 23, 1701 Pine Valley Drive Apt. 65, Sissonville, WV, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Thompson turned herself in to Deputy Sheriff Caltrider and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Nov 09 at 6:00 pm.
Charles Lewis Sexton Sr., age 47, 1209 Cisler Drive Apt. D, Marietta, for a felony charge of assaulting a peace officer and for misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing and obstructing official business. Sexton was arrested on Cisler Drive by Patrolman Gragan of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Nov 09 at 7:40 pm.
Matthew Richard Jett, age 24, 312 Third Street Apt. 2, Lowell, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Jett was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Nov 09 at 11:30 pm.
William Kenna Murphy II, age 20, 231 Woodland Avenue, Clarksburg, WV, for speeding and for possession of drugs, both misdemeanors. Murphy was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Nov 09 at 5:19 pm.
Phillip Glenn Dennis, age 38, 1305 Blennerhassett Avenue, Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Dennis was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Kirby of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Nov 09 at 6:50 pm.
There are currently eighty-six men and twenty-one women being housed in the Washington County Jail.
